Narendra Dabholkar was working to create awareness against superstition. He was shot on 20 august 2013 near Omkareshwar Bridge in pune when he was out for a morning walk. The court has sentenced two attackers, Sachin Andure and Sharad Kalaskar, to life imprisonment, while acquitted three other ENT surgeons, Dr Virendra Singh Davde, sanjeev Punalekar and Vikrabh Bhave, due to lack of evidence.
