This is the good news given to the employees participating in the election duties in andhra pradesh state. After the election polling on 13th May, on tuesday 14th May, State election Chief Officer mukesh Kumar issued orders providing special casual leave facility to the employees. May 14th (on duty) declared as casual leave.

The Chief election Officer of the State has issued instructions to the concerned leave sanctioning authorities to take necessary action. The CEO said that this decision was taken on the request of ap NGO, ap jac trade unions. Presiding Officers, Assistant Presiding Officers and other polling staff performing polling duties in ap elections have been granted special casual leave on the 14th of this month. These instructions are applicable to reserved staff all over the state, Executives, Heads of Departments, district election Officers and Collectors should circulate these instructions to the concerned leave granting authorities and provide special casual leave facility to those conducting polling duties. However, this special casual leave facility is not applicable to reserved staff assigned for polling duties.

Mukesh Kumar clarified that this special casual leave is not applicable to presiding, assistant presiding officers and other polling staff appointed as reserve staff for polling duties. CEO mukesh Kumar issued orders to issue duty certificates to the Presiding Officers, Assistant Presiding Officers and OPOs and provide them the facility of availing special casual leave on the 14th after the polling was over, after handing over the polling material at the reception centre.
