delhi bjp OBC Morcha has strongly welcomed the decision of prime minister Narendra Modi government to conduct caste census. The Morcha expressed happiness over this historic decision by distributing sweets in Connaught Place. Many officials including Morcha General Secretary Ramkhiladi Yadav attended this program organized under the leadership of delhi bjp OBC Morcha President sunil Yadav.
sunil Yadav said that bjp does not believe in dividing the society on the basis of caste or religion, but caste census is necessary because even after 78 years of independence, many people are outside the mainstream of development. He said, "This decision is a big step towards social justice and transparent policy making. Especially the youth of OBC community will benefit the most from it. "
congress accused of double standards
Yadav accused the congress and its allies of adopting a double attitude regarding caste census. He said that while in opposition, congress used it as a political slogan, but never implemented it while in power. In 2010, the UPA government formed a committee, but only conducted a survey, the data of which was not fully released. Yadav said, "Congress used caste census only for vote bank politics, while they had no intention of doing good for the deprived sections."
Transparent initiative of Modi government
sunil Yadav said that the Modi government's decision to restart the caste census after 94 years is an example of transparency and evidence-based governance. He said that the bjp is implementing it under an organized and legally strong process, not like disorganized state-level surveys. Yadav said, "Congress spread confusion with half-hearted surveys, but bjp is committed to unity and development for all.
