delhi Pradesh congress Committee President Devendra Yadav has termed the delhi government's 'crowd tax' as a Tughlaq decree on Delhiites. He said that vehicle owners already pay lifelong road tax and roads are built with the public's tax money, then why this new tax?

Yadav alleged that the BJP's rekha government increased the tax burden on Delhiites as soon as it came to power. The public is being harassed by user charges for garbage collection, increase in PPAC in electricity bill, Rs 50 increase on LPG cylinder and excise duty on petrol and diesel. Now by bringing 'crowd tax', the government is harassing Delhiites even more. He said that such a tax is not there in any other state, then why this unique burden on delhi only?

'Fix public transport, don't impose tax'

The delhi congress President suggested that the government should improve public transport instead of collecting tax at 250 crowded places. This will reduce the problem of traffic jam and congestion. He said that bjp should not forget that the people from whom it is collecting tax have given it power.

'BJP has not lived up to Delhi's expectations'

Devendra Yadav said that rekha government has failed to solve basic problems like traffic jam. It is trying to hide its failure by increasing tax. 3 crore people of delhi gave bjp a chance after 27 years, but the government has not lived up to their expectations yet. people of delhi, already the taxes on electricity, gas, petrol-diesel and garbage have broken their back. Now the government is also bringing 'congestion tax' for driving on the roads. congress says that this is a betrayal with the public. The government should increase facilities like bus-metro, so that the congestion on the roads is reduced, and not put a new burden on the pockets of the public.
