Today, friday (15 August, 2025) will mark 78 years since the country got independence from british rule. Today, the 79th Independence Day will be celebrated all over India. father of the Nation mahatma gandhi has explained many other meanings of complete independence through many of his famous thoughts. mahatma gandhi has written many thoughts about the real independence of india, in which he has said that the day a woman starts walking freely at night, that day we will be able to say that india has achieved independence. Apart from this, mahatma gandhi has also given many other thoughts, in which he has told about the real meaning of independence. These include:
Complete independence will be complete only when our practical vision will be close to truth and non-violence.
Freedom means adopting control, discipline and the rule of law by your own will.
Cleanliness is more than freedom.
Civil disobedience was carried out as a mass movement to achieve freedom.
Unless people remove the feeling of untouchability from their hearts, we cannot have real freedom.
To protect democracy, the people must have a feeling of freedom, self-respect and unity.
If all parts of the country start demanding the right to decide for themselves, then neither a nation nor freedom will survive.
Swaraj means the willingness to declare independence if desired even if it is under somebody else's influence.
We must learn to be self-reliant and free ourselves from the protection and patronage of schools, courts, government which we want to abolish if they do not reform.
In my imagination freedom means nothing less than the realization of the kingdom of god within you and on this earth.
The attainment of national freedom is to me the quest for truth. I do not crave freedom that I personally do not understand, but freedom from british slavery.
Freedom for every unit of the nation without any discrimination of caste, colour or religion is what I seek.
