Ahead of the Alaska summit between the US and russia today (August 15, 2025), US President donald trump said on air Force One that some result will definitely come out of this meeting. donald trump said that I am not going to get any deal done on behalf of Ukraine. My goal is to bring Putin to the negotiating table.
US President trump said that Putin feels that the continuous attacks on ukraine are strengthening him in the talks, but these attacks are only harming him. He said that I am trying to end the war to save people's lives. Along with this, he warned Putin that if the talks do not yield any result, then russia will have to face serious economic consequences.
Expressing the possibility of giving security guarantee to ukraine, trump said that Putin wants a stake in the US economy and trade. During the conversation before meeting Putin, donald trump said that some decision will definitely come out of his meeting with Vladimir Putin in Alaska.

The US President further said, 'Security guarantees for ukraine, which are considered important in Kiev and Europe, are possible.' Before flying to Alaska, trump posted, 'HIGH STAKES!'. The whole world is watching this summit between the US and Russia.

Russian President Putin's first visit to the West
The Trump-Putin meeting in the remote Anchorage city of Alaska will decide whether the Russia-Ukraine conflict that started in february 2022 will end or Russian President Vladimir Putin will decide something else. This will be Putin's first visit to the West since the war began.
However, President donald trump has claimed that within 5 minutes of the meeting it will be known what Russia's stand is. If Putin does not agree then the meeting can end in a few minutes, but if he agrees now then further talks will be held on peace talks.
