The distance between America and
india has increased. US President
donald trump is not happy with it. Meanwhile, the reaction of
white house trade advisor Peter Navarro has come to the fore. He has once again blamed
india for buying oil. Navarro said that the
ukraine war is getting funding because of India. He directly blamed
india for buying
oil from Russia.
White
house trade advisor Navarro, in an article written for 'The Financial Times' on
monday (August 18), accused
india of acting as a global clearing
house for Russian
oil by turning banned crude
oil into high-value exports.
Navarro said, "India's dependence on Russian crude
oil is opportunistic and extremely detrimental to the world's efforts to isolate Putin's
war economy." He said, "In fact,
india acts as a global 'clearing house' for Russian oil. By converting banned crude
oil into high-tariff exports, it gives
russia the dollars it needs."
India accused of supporting
russia in the war
Navarro said, "With India's financial support,
russia is constantly attacking
ukraine, so American (and European) taxpayers are forced to spend billions of dollars more to help defend Ukraine. For all these reasons,
india is closing the doors to American exports through higher tariffs and trade barriers."
America's false claim -
india charges higher tariffs
He has said that
india imposes the highest tariffs in the world on average. It also erects non-tariff barriers. This harms American
workers and companies. "As a result, America's trade deficit with
india has reached around $ 50 billion annually. And the biggest thing is that
india is using those American trade dollars to buy Russian
oil," Navarro said.
