Sacred Wedding Ceremony Held with Devotion

The grand Chithirai Festival celebrations witnessed the divine wedding ceremony (Thirukalyanam) of Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar at the historic Meenakshi Amman Temple.

Deities Taken Out in silver Chariot Procession

Early this morning, Lord Sundareswarar and Goddess Meenakshi were brought out on a silver throne and taken in a procession through the four Chithirai streets surrounding the temple. The event drew thousands of devotees who gathered to witness the sacred occasion.

The Thirukalyanam is considered the most important ritual of the Chithirai festival, symbolizing the divine marriage of the deities. It represents prosperity, harmony, and spiritual unity for devotees.
