Lost Aadhaar Card? Don't worry, do this now..!

If an Aadhaar card is lost or misplaced, you can recover it through the services provided by UIDAI. The Aadhaar card issued by the unique identification authority of india to indian citizens is one of the primary identity proofs. This 12-digit number Aadhaar card stores the personal details and biometric data of the individual. It is noteworthy that the Aadhaar card is an important document for many services ranging from banking services to applying for LPG cylinders. It is mandatory to link an Aadhaar card with investment records like income tax records, bank accounts, insurance policies, mutual funds, provident funds, and pension accounts. If an Aadhaar card is lost or misplaced, you can recover it through the services provided by UIDAI. Even if you don't remember your Aadhaar Enrollment ID (EIT), you can request uidai to send the details to your registered mobile number. Apart from this, you can also apply for an Aadhaar card through the uidai portal. You need to submit certain documents while updating or re-applying for an Aadhaar card.

Ways to Get Aadhaar Card Online:


1) Log on in the website www.uidai.gov.in.

2) After clicking on the 'Retrieve Lost UID/EID' option, a new page will open.

3) Now you have to enter the required details like name, email address, and mobile number.

4) Select 'Retrieve Aadhaar Number (UID)' to retrieve the Aadhaar number or 'Retrieve Aadhaar Enrollment Number (EIT)' if you want to retrieve your Enrollment Number.

5) After clicking Send OTP, you will get a six-digit OTP for your registered mobile number. Enter Security Code, and OTP, and click Submit.

6) Once the verification is completed your Aadhaar number or your enrollment number will be sent to the email address or the registered mobile number depending on your selected balance.
Ways to Download Aadhaar Card Online:

1) Go to the official site of uidai www.uidai.gov.in and click on 'Download Aadhaar'.

2) Enter the Aadhaar number Enrollment ID or Virtual ID.

3) After entering the captcha code and clicking on 'Send OTP', the OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number.

4) Enter the required OTP and click on the button 'Verify and Download'.
Ways to Get Aadhaar Card Offline:

1) Dial the toll-free number 1800-180-1947.

2) Follow the IVR and choose the option to talk to the administrator.

3) You have to request a copy of your Aadhaar card from the administrator who will ask you some questions to verify your identity.

4) A duplicate Aadhaar card will be sent by post to the specified residential address.

If your Aadhaar is not enrolled with a mobile number, you need to visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center and request a duplicate Aadhaar. uidai provides a facility to book an appointment for Aadhaar Card Enrollment on its official website, these centers are open daily from 9.30 AM to 5.30 PM.

1) Visit the Aadhaar Enrollment Center and fill out the Aadhaar Amendment Form.

2) You can request the registrar to issue a another copy of the Aadhaar.

3) Administrator will verify your biometrics and request for duplicate Aadhaar.

4) After successful processing of the request, Aadhaar will be sent to your registered postal address.
