Microsoft has appointed mustafa Suleyman as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its Artificial Intelligence division, a move announced by Suleyman himself on the social media platform X. In his new role, Suleyman will lead a team responsible for delivering AI products across various microsoft platforms, including Edge, Bing, and Copilot. Additionally, he will retain a position on the company's senior leadership team under the guidance of CEO satya Nadella.

Suleyman brings with him a wealth of experience in the field of artificial intelligence, having previously founded AI Lab Deep Mind in 2010. This company gained prominence and was eventually acquired by google in 2014, becoming a major competitor to microsoft in the AI space. However, Suleyman's tenure at google was short-lived, as he parted ways with the company in 2022 following a dispute.

Born in the UK in 1984, Suleyman's upbringing was marked by financial hardship, with his father working as a taxi driver in syria and his mother serving as a nurse in the UK. Despite facing adversity, Suleyman pursued his education at Thornhill Primary school before leaving university at the age of 19. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found Deep Mind AI alongside Demis Hassabis in 2010, setting him on a path to become a prominent figure in the AI industry.

With Suleyman's appointment, microsoft aims to strengthen its position in the AI market and capitalize on the expertise and innovation he brings to the table. Additionally, there are speculations that Suleyman's arrival may pave the way for further talent acquisitions within Microsoft's AI division, signaling the company's commitment to advancing AI technology under his leadership.
