The National Payments Corporation of india (NPCI) has introduced a special USSD-based service, *99#, that allows users to perform UPI transactions without needing an internet connection. This move aims to make digital payments more accessible, especially for users with feature phones or limited connectivity.

Through this service, users can carry out a range of UPI-related activities, including:

· Sending money to a bank account or UPI ID

· Checking account balance

· Generating UPI PIN

· Accessing mini statements and transaction history

To use the service, simply:

1. *Dial 99# from your registered mobile number.

2. Follow the on-screen menu prompts to select the desired transaction.

3. Enter the required details, such as recipient UPI ID, bank account number, or amount.

4. Confirm the transaction using your UPI PIN.

The USSD service works on any mobile network and does not require internet access, making it a convenient solution for rural areas, low-connectivity regions, or users without smartphones. It also ensures that digital payments are inclusive and accessible to everyone, aligning with the government’s vision of a cashless India.
