It all began when Rebecca Harrington, proprietor of Purdy's Pet Shop in Coventry, discovered some strange goings-on in her store. The shop's employees were terrified to work there because the activities had escalated so significantly. Toys being tossed off a shelf, consumers being yanked, and pets becoming agitated – the episodes appeared to be unexplainable. Rebecca was able to record those encounters on CCTV, and the films are pretty frightening to see.
Local ghost hunters were brought in to conduct an investigation, according to The Mirror, and reported the shop was possessed by a male who was 'irritated' by the business's staff's presence. "We arranged a séance for charities because a lot of our clients are ghost hunters." It was strange because when one of the hunters exited the area, she was chased back in by a swarm of orbs, and she was in panic. They believe it is a male who used to live in the area. Because it has been a shop for the past 40 or 50 years, we believe it was attacked during the war, as Coventry was badly hit. They don't believe he's upset; rather, they believe he's unhappy that we're here."
