The central bank said that it is necessary to do this to increase the availability of these notes to the public. Banks and White Label ATM Operators (WLAO) will have to implement this instruction in a phased manner. ATMs operated by non-banking institutions are called 'White Label ATMs' (WLA).

There is a high demand for Rs 100-200 notes

According to the circular, by september 30, 2025, 75 percent of ATMs (Automated Teller Machines) should dispense at least one cassette of Rs 100 or Rs 200 denomination bank notes. After this, by march 31, 2026, 90 percent of ATMs should dispense at least one cassette of Rs 100 or Rs 200 denomination bank notes.

RBI has asked banks to increase the availability of Rs 100 and Rs 200 notes in ATMs as much as possible. This order will have to be implemented systematically by both banks and White Label ATM Operators (WLAO). After this order, there is panic among the banks and officials of the country. After this order, banks will have to work harder in ATMs regarding 100 and 200 rupee notes.
