The police raided an illegal dance bar named 'The Race' located in Vashi area of Navi mumbai last night and took major action. This action was carried out by the police administration promptly and as per the clear instructions of the state's minister of State for home yogesh Kadam. The bar was running even after 12 o'clock in the night without permission.
When the police raided, loud music was playing and some women were found dancing in extremely obscene clothes with obscene gestures in front of the customers.
During this action, 40 women were freed. Apart from this, a case has been registered against a total of 46 people including 6 bar waiters. In this case, crimes have been registered against the bar owner, manager and other related people under various sections like running an illegal business, promoting obscene activities and hurting the dignity of women.
Ban on illegal activities
This action has been taken in line with the state government's policy of strict control on obscenity. These steps are being taken under the guidance of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde and deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar with the aim of protecting the moral values of the society. The strong role and effective working style of minister of State for home yogesh Kadam will definitely help in stopping such illegal and immoral activities. This campaign started by the state government will continue in the same way in future as well. Let us tell you, dance bars were banned for the first time in mumbai in april 2005. According to an estimate, more than 700 dance bars were running in the city at that time. However, only half of them were running with license. The number of dance bars in the whole of mumbai is more than the bars in the rest of Maharashtra.
