Amazon founder jeff bezos has announced that it will spend about 14 trillion rupees to reclaim lands and change food systems. He said this would be accomplished through his Bezos Earth Fund.

Speaking at the COP26 Physical Conference in Glasgow, he said he felt that nature had weakened when he went into space.

The super-rich, including Bezos, has been criticized for spending money to go into space instead of solving problems on Earth.

Amazon, the world's largest online retailer, has been criticized by its employees for its environmental practices.

"Nature has changed from an already carbon-absorbing state to a carbon-emitting state in many parts of the world," Bezos told a conference in Glasgow.

The Bezos Earth Fund plans to spend a total of $ 10 billion on climate change mitigation measures.

Bezos said his rocket cruise to New Shepherd last July was a testament to the impact on Earth.

"Looking back at the Earth from there, the atmosphere seems so thin. The world seemed so narrow and fragile. We all know that this is the decade. We must all stand together to protect our world."

Bezos said during his donation announcement that two-thirds of Africa's farmland has been destroyed and yet it can be restored.

"It can improve soil fertility, increase yields, improve food security, make water more reliable, create jobs and boost economic growth, while at the same time monitoring carbon emissions," he told a conference in Glasgow.

Bezos, Sir richard Branson, and Elon Musk formed the space companies. They are trying to commercialize space exploration.

Prince William said last month that the rich should focus on saving the earth rather than engaging in space tourism.
