According to prominent ysr congress party leader and andhra pradesh industries minister gudivada amarnath, the farmers of the capital region of Amaravati's proposed amaravati to Arasavilli padayatra are planning to invade Visakhapatnam. He said that the farmers' intended action was not a "padayatra" calling for the retention of amaravati as the nation's capital but rather an invasion of Visakhapatnam to demand that it not be designated as the state's executive capital.

Amarnath claimed that the residents of Andhra Pradesh's north shore would forbid any padayatra from passing through. They are adamant about building Visakhapatnam as the executive capital city, hence they won't accept amaravati as the capital, he said. The minister said there was no chance of the YSRC government abandoning its commitment to the establishment of three capitals for the equal development of all regions. He declared that kurnool would become the judicial capital and Visakhapatnam the executive capital.

"The padayatra is intended to create a difficult environment in the north coastal Andhra, so slowing its growth," he claimed. "Since we are establishing Visakhapatnam as executive capital." amarnath claimed that Naidu had just proposed amaravati for his own personal gain. "The 'agitation' is limited to the development of 29 villages exclusively. But we want to develop the whole state," he added. He declared that only Naidu would be held accountable if there were any law and order problems in north coastal Andhra as a result of the padayatra.
