The ruling party has reportedly started making efforts to maintain its hold on the community after it became apparent that a potential alliance between the N Chandrababu Naidu-led telugu desam party and actor Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena party could significantly reduce the Kapu vote bank of the ysr congress party in the upcoming elections. On the orders of chief minister Y S jagan Mohan Reddy, Kapu representatives of the YSRC met on monday in rajahmundry to strategize ways to protect their support base and fend off the threat posed by the Pawan-Naidu alliance.

The YSRC ministers, MLAs, MPs, and MLCs all agreed at the meeting to undertake a forceful campaign to defend what the jagan government has been doing for the Kapu community and to counteract Pawan Kalyan's divisive campaign. They resolved that all elected and nominated leaders of the ruling party who represent the Kapu community could attend an upcoming larger gathering of community leaders in Vijayawada.

Three resolutions were approved in the rajahmundry meeting on behalf of the Kapu people, reiterating that YSRC is the only party that cares about their welfare. Kottu Satyanarayana, the deputy chief minister, Ministers Botsa Satyanarayana, Ambati Rambabu, and gudivada amarnath, as well as MLAs kurasala kannababu and Jakkampudi Raja, took part in the discussion.
