River Ship ganga Vilas will provide this fascinating journey from varanasi to Dibrugarh. This journey of 3200 km will be completed in 50 days. This cruise will pass through 27 river systems in india and Bangladesh. During this time it will stop at more than 50 places. These also include world heritage sites.

The cruise will also pass through several national parks and sanctuaries. These also include the Sundarbans Delta and Kaziranga National Park. This voyage will be the longest in the world undertaken by a single river ship. This project has put india and bangladesh on the river cruise map of the world. The cruise will depart from varanasi on january 10 and reach Bogibeel in the Dibrugarh district of assam on march 1 via kolkata and Dhaka in Bangladesh.


This new horizon of tourism has opened in the indian subcontinent. This will increase awareness about river cruising in other rivers of india as well. The length of the ganga Vilas ship is 62.5 m, its width: is 12.8 m, and the draft: is 1.35 m. It will have 18 suites. cm Yogi released the timetable of the cruise between varanasi to Dibrugarh. Waterways minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Commerce and industry minister piyush Goyal, and Heavy industries minister mahendra nath pandey were also present on the occasion.


The country's spiritual city Kashi is going to get the most advanced hydrogen fuel cell catamaran ships. varanasi will get one hydrogen fuel cell vessel and four electric hybrid vessels. An agreement was signed between Inland Waterways Authority of india and Cochin Shipyard Limited for this on Friday. The Authority is developing/upgrading 62 minor community ghats on river ganga under Jal Marg Vikas Project-2 also known as Arth Ganga. Of these, 15 are in UP, 21 in Bihar, 3 in Jharkhand, and 23 in West Bengal.


Ghats are being developed over 250 km between varanasi and Ballia in Uttar Pradesh. These ghats will be equipped with passenger and administrative facilities. These will move goods and passengers possible on the river and will save time as well as money. With the start of the operation of ghats, small industries will be encouraged, cultural heritage of the area will increase.

This will increase employment opportunities and benefit all communities. The focus on the development of inland waterways will help in the standardization of development and operations. This will provide better facilities to the local communities and their livelihood will also improve.


Under the agreement, the Cochin Shipyard will also manufacture 8 hybrid electric catamaran vessels. The central government has sanctioned Rs.130 crore for this project. The 50 pax capacity ships will be deployed in varanasi, Ayodhya, Mathura-Vrindavan, and Guwahati.


Let us inform you that a total of 60 jetties are to be built between varanasi and Kolkata. These include seven jetties in Uttar Pradesh, three in varanasi, two in Ballia, and one each in Chandauli, Ghazipur. These include Ravidas Ghat in varanasi, Ramnagar, Kaithi, Balua in Chandauli, collector Ghat in Ghazipur, Ujiyar Ghat in Ballia, Barauli, and Shivpur.
