India abstains from voting in UNSC!!!

India did not participate in the voting in the United Nations Security Council (UN Security Council) on that resolution, in which a provision has been made to exempt the humanitarian aid given by the United Nations to the banned countries. Despite being the current chairman of the Security Council of 15 countries, india refused to take part in the voting opposing this proposal due to Pakistan. Without naming pakistan, india clearly said that this will benefit banned terrorist organizations everywhere, including in the neighbourhood, which will get full freedom to raise funds and recruit terrorists under its guise. Voting was done on friday on this proposal presented by America and ireland to the Security Council. While presenting this proposal, Washington had hoped that it would prove to be a step to save countless lives.

India alone stayed away from voting

There are 15 countries in the Security Council, out of which 14 voted in favour of the resolution presented by the US. india remained the only member country of the Council to abstain from voting.

What did india say while abstaining from voting?

Ruchira Kamboj, President of the Security Council and India's Permanent Representative to the UN, presented the indian side for abstaining from voting. "Based on proven precedents, we are concerned that terrorist groups take full advantage of such humanitarian impunity and make a mockery of all sanctions regimes, including the 1267 Section Committee," she said.

During this, Kamboj also gave a small example of pakistan and the terrorist organizations present on its soil as a reference. She said, in our neighbourhood too, there are many examples of such terrorist groups, including organizations included in the list of this Council (UNSC), who present themselves as humanitarian organizations and civil society groups to defy the sanctions.
