Somesh Kumar, a senior IAS officer who served as the telangana government's chief secretary before being shifted to the andhra pradesh cadre by the Centre in response to a high court ruling, reported to the andhra pradesh government on Thursday. At the airport in Vijayawada, he told reporters that he had followed the government of India's instructions to travel here and report. He presented his joining report when he met with chief secretary K S jawahar Reddy.
Later, Somesh Kumar visited Y S jagan Mohan reddy at the chief minister's camp office in Tadepalli. The meeting lasted an hour, however it appears that jagan did not respond favourably to the IAS officer. The chief minister, who had filled up all senior positions during the most recent reshuffle, reportedly stated his inability in granting Somesh a top job despite the fact that he had sought for a dignified position that suited his chief secretary cadre.
It has been learned that Somesh would either take a lengthy leave of absence or request a voluntary retirement from his position. According to insiders, he is likely to return to telangana and serve as the chief advisor to the chief minister, handling urban development and other related issues. However, Somesh assured reporters in the morning that he was prepared to accept whatever duty that the government entrusted to him. "There is no big or tiny post. I'll work in any position I'm given," he declared. Somesh Kumar responded that no decision had been made when asked about rumours that he will serve as an advisor to the telangana government.
