Recently, Jana Sena party leaders announced that party leader and powerhouse pawan kalyan would run for office in the upcoming assembly elections from the west godavari district's bhimavaram assembly constituency. In 2019, Pawan ran for two assembly seats—Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam and Bhimavaram—but lost in an embarrassing fashion in each location. Due to his displeasure with the populace, particularly the Kapu community, which predominates in both of the constituencies where he had lost, there was discussion that he would shift his constituency in the upcoming elections.

At one point, there were rumours that Pawan might move to the tirupati assembly district, where his brother chiranjeevi served as the representative in 2009. However, his party officials claimed in July 2022 that Pawan is a fighter and won't give it up easily. They advised him to look for gains where he had suffered losses in 2019. He would therefore run from bhimavaram, however this time he would not choose the second constituency. They further claimed that Pawan would establish an office in bhimavaram and routinely communicate with members of the public and the party apparatus.

They claimed that he would gain the trust of the people of bhimavaram by being approachable. Pawan, however, had not even attempted to set up his office in bhimavaram during the previous six months. The power star ignored the invitation despite prime minister Narendra Modi visiting bhimavaram to dedicate the statue of Alluri Sitarama Raju. According to the most recent rumours, pawan kalyan intends to run for office from the kakinada (rural) assembly district in light of the likelihood of forming an alliance with the telugu Desam Party.
