Wash Your Face With Dettol: FM Slams Congress...


As the Finance minister expressed concerns in parliament about the fiscal practises of the states led by the congress, the opposition MPs charged the bjp with corruption.

Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance minister, stated on friday that congress politicians should "wash" their faces with "Dettol" before speaking about corruption. After congress MPs accused the narendra modi administration of corruption, she made the caustic statement in the Lok Sabha.

"Wash your faces with Dettol before talking about corruption. 

Who is it that is bringing up corruption?" To the accusations of graft made by the congress, Sitharaman responded.

Speaking to the Lower House, the Union Finance minister criticised the states that increased VAT on feul despite the Center lowering it twice in the previous two years. She requested of congress MP gaurav gogoi to inquire of his party's government in himachal pradesh as to why it increased the VAT on diesel following the assembly elections.

Indicating the states ruled by the opposition that raised the fuel VAT, Sitharaman stated, "This month, punjab raised the VAT on gasoline and diesel. This month, the Keralan government also imposed a social security levy of Rs 2 per litre of gasoline and diesel "She spoke.
