An enormous earthquake is expected to strike India soon?...

Several experts think that an earthquake of a comparable magnitude might strike India and cause property loss if necessary precautions are not taken, especially in light of the enormous destruction and thousands of fatalities caused by the Turkey-Syria earthquake.

The Himalayan region of the country could soon be shaken by a powerful earthquake, according to the National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) in India, which could have a significant effect on himachal pradesh and Uttarakhand.

It's possible that a sizable earthquake would strike himachal pradesh and have an effect on Uttarakhand, Nepal, and other nearby areas, but if sturdy buildings are built and the appropriate precautions are taken by the authorities, the loss of life can be reduced.

Dr. N Purnachandra Rao, the chief scientist of NGRI, told the media that the indian plate is shifting roughly 5 cm per year, which is putting a lot of strain on the Himalayan region. The indian plate is one of many plates that make up the surface of the Earth and are continually in motion.

Due to the increased strain on the area, a significant earthquake is possible and is most likely going to strike states like himachal pradesh and Uttarakhand. The local earthquake may have a Richter scale magnitude of 8.

We have a robust network of 18 seismograph stations in Uttarakhand, the expert declared. An earthquake could happen at any time in the area known as the "seismic gap" between Himachal and the western portion of Nepal, including Uttarakhand.

This occurs after back-to-back earthquakes that caused significant damage in both turkey and Syria. The number of fatalities from the earthquake has now surpassed 50,000, and many survivors are still thought to remain trapped.
