President draupadi murmu honored 55 people with Padma Awards on Wednesday. Founder of Samajwadi party and former Defense minister of the country mulayam singh yadav in a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Singh Yadav was posthumously awarded the Padma Vibhushan. In his place, his son and SP chief akhilesh yadav received the award. Apart from Mulayam Singh, sudha Murthy was awarded the Padma bhushan and india received the oscar Award. MM Keeravani, the composer of the Oscar-winning Naatu Naatu song, anand Kumar, the founder of Super-30, and film actress raveena tandon have been awarded the Padma Shri.
56 people were honored, 50 have already received the honor
A total of 56 people were honored with Padma Awards by President Murmu in the felicitation ceremony that began at 5 pm at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Earlier, on march 22, the President also honored 50 people with Padma Awards, including former External Affairs minister and former karnataka Chief minister SM Krishna, industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla, singer Suman Kalyanpur, stock market expert Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, etc.
No one got Bharat Ratna this year
The government has not given the country's highest honor Bharat Ratna to anyone this year. A total of 106 people have been selected to be honored in all categories of Padma awards, including mulayam singh yadav, Dr. dilip Mahalanabis and famous architects Balkrishna Doshi, SM Krishna, tabla maestro Zakir Hussain, 6 Padma Vibhushan, 9 Padma bhushan and 91 people Has been honored with Padma Shri. A total of 19 women are included in the awardees this time. Padma Vibhushan is the second highest civilian honor of the country, followed by Padma bhushan and then Padma Shri.
