Food Crisis: people in pakistan are dying of hunger...

Sugar is being smuggled the most from pakistan, whose price is more than double in Afghanistan. Inflation is at its peak amidst the economic crisis in Pakistan. The prices of food items have increased by 70-80 times. Even on this, food is not easily available. Dozens of people have died in stampedes in many places to collect maximum food during the distribution of zakat during Ramzan. Even in such a situation, the eyes of the smugglers are fixed on earning. Despite the shortage in pakistan, food is being smuggled to Afghanistan. Smugglers are earning double the profit by taking food items from pakistan to Afghanistan. This has been revealed after a truck full of sugar sacks was caught on the afghanistan border.

93 kg sugar sold for Rs 193

According to the BBC report, 112 tonnes of sugar being taken to afghanistan via punjab was caught. Customs officials said that sugar is being sold in pakistan at the rate of Rs 93 per kg, but due to the huge difference between the currency of afghanistan and pakistan, a smuggler gets Rs 193 for the same one kg of sugar on reaching there. According to officials, about 700 tonnes of sugar is being sent to afghanistan illegally every week.
