DGP Sylendra Babu: Do not hesitate to use the gun for self-protection!!!

This is in regard to the SI Bhoominathan who was killed in Trichy, tamil Nadu DGP Sylendra Babu visited Bhoominathan's house and paid homage to his photo, and offered his condolences to the family. Speaking at the time, he said police should carry guns when on patrol and should not hesitate to use firearms to save their lives.

Trichy District Navalpattu Police Special Assistant Inspector Bhoominathan was on patrol on Nov.20th, when he chased tirelessly towards the goat robbers for more than 15 km and caught them near Pallappatti in Pudukkottai district. Then, Bhoominathan was hacked to death by goat robbers with a meat-cutting knife on his back head. Bhoominathan died tragically on the spot.

In this context, 4 special teams led by Trichy Zonal police Chief karthikeyan yesterday arrested the goat robbers. One of them was 19-year-old Manikandan from Thakur village near thanjavur district fort and the other two were two minors aged 9 and 14 from Pudukkottai district. The 9-year-old and 14-year-old were remanded in custody for 15 days at a government-run school on EP Road, Trichy.

In this situation, tamil Nadu DGP Sylendra Babu left chennai by train last night and reached Trichy at 5 am today. He went to the police lodge near the cantonment and from there went in person to the house of Special Assistant Inspector Bhoominathan house. Speaking to reporters after paying homage to the photo of Bhoominathan, he said, “The loss of Bhoominathan is a great sacrifice. He won a Medal for providing excellent training in Terrorism/Prevention. He has worked valiantly and wisely. Also, he added a few notes about, We have announced that the patrol will carry six rounds of ammunition. We are told not to hesitate to use the gun to save lives. There are many efforts being made to prevent juvenile delinquency, it has been revealed that only three people were involved in the murder.
