Shamshera, starring Ranbir Kapoor, has amassed a total of Rs 40.45 crore in seven days. In the first three days, it had brought in Rs 31.75 crore. The company's revenue significantly decreased on Monday, when it brought in Rs 2.90 crore as opposed to Rs 11 crore on Sunday, and on thursday it brought in Rs 1.50 crore. There is really little chance that the movie will improve on its second weekend given the new releases this week. We ponder whether the movie will even be able to surpass the 50 crore threshold! It is Ranbir's sixth career flop movie.

Shamshera's spectacular failure has proven to be a major setback for yash Raj Films (YRF). They had two successful films to close off 2019: war and Mardaani 2. After the pandemic, sandeep Aur pinky Faraar was their first movie (2021). It vanished into thin air. Then came a string of failures, including Bunty Aur Babli 2 in 2021, jayeshbhai jordaar in 2022, Samrat Prithviraj, and now Shamshera.

Taran Adarsh, a seasoned professional in the industry, responded, "No one wants to start a film planning a flop. These were all pre-pandemic movies. Over the course of the pandemic, viewing patterns altered. The enchantment of the South's cinema was evident. As a result, there are extremely high expectations for every bollywood movie. Many of these movies might have performed better at the box office and overall before the COVID hit. The movie would not have been successful in the situation of Shamshera, either before or after the pandemic.
