Yashoda, Samantha's film, is now available in theatres. Yashoda premieres took place last night in other countries. Samantha's dedication to Yashoda has been rewarded. Yes, Yashoda opened to rave acclaim from both fans and the general public. people are raving about the movie. Yashoda has managed to make $60k in the USA alone from its debut collections. Yashoda's complete premiere grosses are still unknown.

The movie starts with a Rape and murder mystery and keeps us to the edge of our seats. The story is taking place in a surrogate facility. And there’s a murder investigation underway. Yashoda ( samantha ) accepts surrogacy offer for a hefty amount. She joins Dr Madhu (Varalaxmi) surrogacy facility. Both the crime investigation and the surrogacy facility scenes travel on a parallel note and the first half runs on sentiments. And just before the interval, Yashoda realizes what's actually happening in the hospital. 

The first half of the movie is a predictable crime drama with modern premise. Good performance by samantha, contemporary production values are plus points so far in the first half. Yashoda’s first half is flat for the most part until the last twenty minutes before the interval. It shifts gears to a thriller and shows promise for an exciting second half.

Second half starts with yashoda’s rebellion fight in the hospital and Varalaxmi's flashback. The flashback portions and the backstory is engaging. The actual reason behind the surrogacy business is a dark one indeed. And, just like any mystery, we have a good twist and the pre-climax episode was top notch. movie finally ends on a happy note. 

YASHODA has an emotional first half is followed by some action and gloomy themes in the second. Overall, the movie is at most mediocre. samantha distinguishes out because she effortlessly handled a dual-shaded character. Excellent production values. The other casting is also excellent.
