Joshimath sinking: Rescue continues...

561 homes there have developed cracks. The ground is making a variety of noises. Roads are deteriorating. In Joshimath, a historic city in Uttarakhand, the subsidence of the soil is accelerating. house cracking cases brought to light by ground subsidence occurred in november of last year. Water has now begun to emerge from several locations after tearing the dirt. Joshimath's landslide issue has prompted the district government to make a significant choice. The NTPC Tapovan Vishnugad Hydroelectric Project and Helang Bypass building projects have both been outright prohibited by the district administration. 

This prohibition is in effect until further orders are issued. Landslides had been occurring in Joshimath's Marwari for a while when, all of a sudden, water began pouring out of the ground and the walls of the Jayaprakash Power Project condominium next to badrinath National Highway-58.

Joshimath rescue operations continue despite an evacuation

Families were relocated to safer areas in Joshimath, Uttarakhand, while protests persisted on Thursday. This was done as a result of some houses developing cracks. In the meantime, all construction projects in and around the sinking city were outlawed on thursday by the Chamoli administration. Approximately 50 families have also been relocated to safer areas in addition to this.
