The Winter Session, which runs from december 4 to december 22, is expected to see the postponement of reports from the Ethics Committee on the 'cash-for-query' claims levelled against trinamool congress MP Mahua Moitra, as well as the introduction of three crucial measures to replace the IPC, CrPC, and the Evidence Act. With a 3-1 win margin in the most recent round of assembly elections, bjp legislators will approach parliament with confidence, while the opposition will try to pin the government down on many subjects.

"The Lok Sabha's winter session begins today." It is hoped that all parties would actively cooperate throughout the session. The house will give careful consideration to problems of national importance and public welfare. Members will engage in the proceedings with civility and discipline. "We will enhance the dignity of the house through collective efforts," lok sabha Speaker om birla wrote on X, just before the start of Parliament's winter session.

It would also introduce for passing the government of Union Territories (Amendment) Bill, 2023, which will include measures for establishing reservations for women in the puducherry Legislative Assembly.

The two proposals mentioned above are two of seven new laws on the government's legislative agenda this session.

Twelve of the 33 pending legislation are listed for review and passage. Among these are three criminal law change measures that were referred to a Standing Committee following their presentation in the lok sabha earlier this year.

In addition, the rajya sabha will take up the Chief election Commissioner and other election Commissioners (Appointment, Conditions of Service, and Term of Office) Bill, 2023, presented in the rajya sabha, for discussion and passage during the winter session.
