PM Modi and mamata banerjee rallies in north Bengal...

Back-to-back lok sabha campaign rallies featuring West bengal Chief minister mamata banerjee and prime minister Narendra Modi are set for this thursday in Cooch Behar, north Bengal. This is the region where the bharatiya janata party (BJP) has gained the most electoral ground since the 2019 elections. Modi and the chairwoman of the trinamool congress will be speaking to voters in the same constituency on the same day for the first time this election season.

The seats in North bengal known as Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, and Jalpaiguri, after the three districts in which they are situated, will go to polls on april 19 in the first of seven phases that bengal will experience. In 2019, the ruling TMC lost all three seats to the BJP. Union ministers of state Nisith Pramanik of Cooch Behar and john Barla of Alipurduar are two of the winners. Modi will speak at one rally in Cooch Behar on thursday, and Banerjee will speak at two, as their parties announced on wednesday night. A record eighteen of the forty-two Lok Saha seats in the state were won by the bjp in 2019. It won seven out of the eight seats in north Bengal. The principal opposition force in the eastern state intends to win at least 25 seats this year.

Despite the fact that the TMC secured 213 of Bengal's 294 assembly seats in the 2021 elections, the bjp was nevertheless able to secure 30 of the 54 seats in the eight districts in north Bengal. Later, in the bypolls, the TMC took control of two of these seats in north Bengal. Since she hastily boarded a chartered jet just hours after norwesters struck portions of the region on Sunday, Banerjee has been visiting the regions of north bengal and canvassing voters. The most severely damaged were two community blocks in the Jalpaiguri district, where five persons lost their lives.
