Georgia Meloni, the prime minister of Italy, blasted the "Left" on saturday for their "double standards," calling politicians such as indian prime minister Narendra Modi and US President donald trump a "threat to democracy."

The Italian prime minister attacked "elites" and left-wing politicians while praising trump and JD Vance during a video link speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington.  She noted that the Left had grown more and more irritated and that their agitation had turned into hysteria as a result of Trump's ascent.

"The Left is anxious, and since trump won, their annoyance has escalated into hysteria, not just because conservatives are winning, but because they are now working together around the world," she added.  Bill Clinton and Tony Blair were referred to as statesmen when they founded the global leftist liberal network in the 1990s.

When trump, Maloni, Millay, or even Modi speak these days, they are referred to be a threat to democracy.  The good news is that, despite all the muck they pour at us, people no longer accept their falsehoods. This is the last instance of the double standard, but we are accustomed to it.  People continue to vote for us," she continued.

Italian opposition leaders strongly criticized Meloni's attendance at CPAC, calling for her to withdraw, particularly in the wake of former trump advisor Steve Bannon's divisive speech.  During his speech, Bannon seemed to salute in the Nazi manner, which led Democratic party leader Elly Schlein to call CPAC a "neo-fascist gathering."

Meloni, however, rejected these critiques, reaffirming her commitment to serving the people rather than reigning over them and siding with the conservative movement.  "We serve the people, we do not rule over them," she stated.
