EC: Preparations to make voter list accurate and voting process easy, election Commission's exercise before bihar elections

The election commission has taken three new initiatives to improve the voter list and make voting easier. It is believed that this exercise of the election commission will make the election process more transparent and smooth. Let us know what are the new announcements.

The election commission has intensified its preparations before the upcoming bihar Assembly elections. In this connection, the election commission has started three new initiatives to make the voter lists more accurate and reliable, to make the voting process easy and reliable for the people. Let us tell you that these decisions were taken in the meeting of Chief Electoral Officers held in march 2025, in which Chief election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. vivek Joshi were present.

The first of the three important announcements made by the election Commission has been made in the matter related to the data on death registration. Under this, now the election commission will get the record of dead people directly electronically from the Registrar General of India. This will ensure that the names of the dead are removed from the voter list on time. After this, BLOs (Booth Level Officers) will be able to go to the field and re-check the information, without any formal complaint.

If we talk about the second announcement, now the voter slip will be made more voter-friendly. The voter's serial number and part number will now appear in a larger font, which will make it easier for voters to identify their polling station and election officials will also be able to find the name quickly.

Under the third announcement, now every BLO will be given a standard photo identity card so that when they go door-to-door to meet voters, people can easily recognize them. Also, they can talk with confidence. However, in this matter, the election commission says that all these steps are a strong effort toward increasing trust, transparency, and convenience.
