Farhan, the primary suspect in the case of raping Hindu college students in bhopal, blackmailing them with films, and then forcing them to convert, was slain by police on friday night after a brief confrontation. The cops shot him in the leg when he attempted to flee from their custody. His condition is reportedly stable at Hamidia Hospital, where he was admitted right away. Farhan is the primary accused in nearly all of the five FIRs that have been filed in this case thus far.

The information claims that late at night, Ashoka Garden police were transporting Farhan to Bilkisganj in the Sehore area in an attempt to find absconding accused Abrar.  Farhan was placed under remand by Ashoka Garden police on Friday. Farhan informed the cops that Bilkisganj was where Abrar was hiding.  At 11:30 p.m., cops from Ashoka Garden police station were transporting Farhan to Bilkisganj accompanied by security personnel.  Farhan pulled over to Sarwar village to urinate as soon as they passed the Ratibad police station.
 
The sub-inspector and two other police officers got down for his protection.  Farhan, the accused, grabbed the sub-inspector's pistol and attempted to flee in the meantime. The sub-inspector's weapon fired a bullet that struck Farhan's leg during their altercation.  The police apprehended the accused because he was unable to flee.
