After the terrorist attack in pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the entire country is in shock and mourning. At the same time, there is a different kind of stir in the politics of Maharashtra. uddhav Thackeray's party Shiv Sena (UBT)'s mouthpiece Saamana has made a sharp attack on prime minister Narendra Modi for participating in an entertainment program in Mumbai.

Serious questions have been raised in the editorial that when 26 innocent citizens have been brutally killed in the country, was it right to participate in entertainment programs?

PM Modi's participation in 'Waves' Summit is insensitive - Saamana

According to Saamana, "The country has not yet recovered from the grief of the pahalgam incident. At such a time, the Prime Minister's participation in a glittering program like 'Waves' Summit in mumbai not only shows insensitivity, but it is like rubbing salt on the wounds of the victims and their families." The editorial also wrote that the posters put up by Mumbaikars to pay tribute to those killed in the terrorist attack paled in comparison to the glittering posters welcoming the Prime Minister.

PM did not cry on pahalgam incident- Saamana

Saamana taunted that prime minister Modi has often been seen getting emotional on stage and crying in front of the camera, but after the Pulwama and now pahalgam incidents, his eyes did not become moist. The editorial asked whether this sensitivity is just an act?

In the Prime Minister's speech, he said, "We do not want to let humans become machines, but want to make them sensitive." On this, Saamana retorted, "When the bodies of 26 innocent people are lying and the country is crying, even then if the leader is smiling on the stage, then where is this sensitivity?" The editorial also said that when a leader or a prominent personality dies abroad, national mourning is declared in India, programs are cancelled. But here no sensitivity was shown even after the killing of 26 indian citizens.
