Following the pahalgam terror assault on april 22, a Ghibli-style picture of a stunned Himanshi Narwal kneeling next to her husband Captain Vinay Narwal's body went viral online. The devastating image served as the public face of the terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 individuals.

After only one week of marriage, he was shot at close range by Pakistan-backed terrorists who targeted him based on his beliefs, just like they did with twenty-four other visitors.

She quickly faced backlash from those who used Himashi and Vinay's Ghibli-style photo to show their astonishment and draw attention to the tragedy.  Within two weeks, Himanshi became the target of the trolls' wrath.

The terror victim who lost her spouse made a plea for peace, which was the reason.  In light of the horrific attack, she appealed that Muslims and Kashmiris not be singled out.

Based on the dog-whistling of Pakistani army Chief General Asim Munir, it appears that pakistan and its terrorists are plotting to take advantage of India's ethnic fault lines.  People have been cautioned by hyderabad MP asaduddin owaisi not to fall into that trap.

However, what Himanshi Narwal had to go through shows how poisonous trolls thrive on misery and target everyone who stands in their way.  It gets considerably worse for women.

How pahalgam victim become a target of trolls?
Himanshi Narwal's portrayal as a stoic but broken widow did not spark the internet attacks against her.  She broke down at her husband's burial, but it wasn't even the beginning of them.

They started when Himanshi, in a manner that many found objectionable, raised her voice to demand peace.

"We don't want Kashmiris and Muslims to be targeted.  Justice and peace are what we desire.  During a ceremony honoring her husband, a Navy officer, Himanshi stated that those who had wronged him had to face consequences.

The trolls were ultimately triggered by the reasonable remarks.

The trolls, as usual, launched a torrent of rebukes at Himanshi rather than engaging in rational debate.

To prove that she is not to be believed, the trolls have done everything they can.  Neither the facts nor even the potentially wounded sentiments of others support this reasoning.  It is predicated on her character being systematically assassinated, or at least attempted.

TROLLS TRY TO DIG UP NARWAL'S PAST IN TOXIC ATTACK
The trolls have made assumptions about her dignity, her intents, and every single detail, from researching her past to her educational background, from speculating about her potential future actions to disparaging her personal life.

With some pointing out that she had just been widowed for a week and asking whether she should be given a government pension or how she performed as a daughter-in-law, the remarks are rife with aggressive sexism.

The conversation has also included details about her time in college and her studies at jawaharlal nehru University (JNU).

To give readers a sense of the online hate she has experienced, we have included only a few of the more mild posts that have been made against her.

"Should 2 Crore, Pension, Govt job be provided to such Girls or should it be given to his parents instead," read one post.

"Himanshi Swami wife Of Late indian Navy Officer Vinay Narwal Who Killed By Pakistani Jihadi Turned Out As Hindu Woke Pro Max," read another.

"Biwi na mile Himanshi Narwal (Don't get such a wife)," read yet another.

Some even went as far as to spin conspiracies, claiming she had no remorse over her husband's death and that she was the one who planned the trip to Kashmir.
