Former Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has criticized the 2025 IPL series for being stopped. He has also pointed out that the pakistan Super League series should also be stopped. As the IPL series is about to resume after the war, he has criticized the fact that foreign players are being forced to play in the series and pressured. The 2025 IPL series was stopped on May 8 due to the war between india and Pakistan. A few days before that, the pakistan Super League series was also stopped. Then both series are set to resume from May 17. Since the IPL series is the world's premier cricket series, all the foreign players who went to their countries due to the war have returned to play in the IPL series in the same week.
However, Mitchell Johnson has criticized the pressure to have foreign players play in this IPL series in such an uncertain situation. Even though there is currently no war tension on the indian border, Mitchell Johnson has said that the IPL series should be stopped. He said: "If you had asked me to go back to india and play the IPL, I would have definitely said 'no'. It would have been a very easy decision. Life and safety are more important. Not our salary. It is a personal decision. We cannot force or pressure anyone to go back and play. Whether it is the IPL or the pakistan Super League, we cannot try hard for that. Both those series should be stopped now or moved to the next stage. If we do that, there will be a huge financial loss.

Cricket australia has said that its players can make the decision on their own. But those decisions will be very difficult. If the players decide not to play, it will be disappointing. There is a possibility of financial loss in the professional system. But safety should be the first and foremost thing.  When we hear about the challenges faced by the players in india and pakistan, it seems that we have to be very careful. The players have made a decision of their own decision. You have to consider the risks and the various implications. Ultimately, an individual has to think about what is safe for him and what is right for him. Apart from that, you should not think about the commitment to your team and winning the series. And we should not forget another thing. australia and south africa have to prepare for the World Test championship final. Now the IPL final has been postponed to june 3. The World Test championship final has been postponed by a week. This will affect the players' preparation. Test cricket is different. south africa seems to be more determined on this issue than Australia. After all, there is financial support for the SA20 series between india and South Africa. Despite this, they have taken this decision," Mitchell Johnson said.
