Leading parts in films like The Matrix, Speed, and, of course, the john Wick trilogy have made Keanu Reeves a legitimate action star, despite his attempts at lighter and more humorous material over the years. Therefore, his upcoming project can undoubtedly be seen as an interesting shift in direction. Reeves as Gabriel in Good Fortune, a well-meaning but underqualified "budget guardian angel" who begs his supervisor Martha (Sandra Oh) to assign him more "meaningful duties" (we find out later that he's responsible for keeping those who text while driving out of danger).

Martha informs him that he must locate a lost soul in order to save it, which is where Arj by Aziz Ansari enters the picture. By switching the lives of the two men, Gabriel tries to persuade his new charge that having money like Jeff (Seth Rogen) won't fix all of his issues. Arj works odd tasks for Jeff.  Unfortunately for Gabriel, Arj ends up being really happy with having an outrageous amount of money, and the angel loses his wings and must live as a human.

At last year's CinemaCon, Lionsgate unveiled the first teaser for Good Fortune, and Ansari revealed that he had lately worked on dramatic movies and wanted to produce a comedy.  In addition to executive producing alongside Jonathan McCoy, christopher Woodrow, and Connor DiGregorio, Good Fortune is Ansari's first feature film as director.  On october 17, the movie will only be available in theaters.
