For many actors in the movie business, kamal haasan is the acting bible.  Nani, the natural star, is no different.  While promoting HIT 3, nani talked about how he finds inspiration in Kamal's sequence from Virumandi.  Now, Kamal acknowledged Nani's remarks in a recent interview while promoting Thug Life.

"I think cinema has given us and directors a lot of things," nani stated during the marketing of HIT 3.  And kamal haasan, sir, is the one thing we gave back to the film industry.  He is, in my opinion, a gift to cinema in general.  In the indian film industry, he has achieved success in a wide range of endeavors.  In a scene from Virumandi, Kamal Sir awakens from his slumber.  His portrayal is so natural that I viewed the sequence several times to check whether it was fake, but it is.  "That scene inspired me, and I tried to do something similar in my film," nani added.

The video went viral on social media at the time, and most unexpectedly, kamal haasan saw it.  In a recent interview, Kamal quickly stated that nani had recently discussed the subject when the host attempted to bring it up, even before he gave all the specifics.

Kamal Haasan remarked, "Just as I don't have to say 'Thanks, Nani' aloud because I know he understands, I also don't need to explain everything in movies because the audience can understand everything through the way I perform the scenes."

The fact that kamal haasan really watched what nani had to say is undoubtedly a significant accomplishment.

In contrast, Mani Ratnam's film Thug Life is scheduled for release on june 5.
