Indian team head coach gautam gambhir has expressed his deep condolences over the tragic stampede that took place during RCB's victory celebrations in Bengaluru on june 4. The incident left 11 lives lost and many injured, which is considered one of the darkest days for the city of Bengaluru. Gambhir termed the incident as tragic and urged people to avoid organizing roadshows in the future. He stressed that everyone should take responsibility for this and that every life matters. He said that if you are not prepared to conduct road shows safely, then you should not conduct them at all.
Speaking about this, he said, "I think road shows should not be held. We should be very firm about this in the future. My heart goes out to the families of the deceased. We are all responsible for this. We have to behave responsibly. Every life matters. If you are not ready for a road show, you should not hold it. You cannot lose 11 lives," Gambhir told in a press conference. Gambhir said that he never wanted and never will want the victory rally held when he won the t20 world cup in 2007. After winning the 2025 IPL title against punjab Kings in Ahmedabad, RCB had planned a victory road show in Bengaluru.
 But the situation got out of control as lakhs of fans gathered around the Chinnaswamy Stadium and on the streets due to inadequate police security and lack of proper planning. What started as a celebration turned tragic, causing loss of life and injuries. RCB, in an official statement on their social media platforms, expressed deep sorrow over the incident. They announced a financial assistance of Rs. 10 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
