In a powerful and symbolic demonstration, Iranian exiles in the
netherlands recently held a peaceful
march in solidarity with
israel and against the Islamic Republic of Iran. The protest, which drew a diverse crowd of men and women, was striking not only for its message but for what it visibly represented—an unfiltered rejection of the regime in Tehran. No participants wore hijabs or burqas, not by force but by choice, and the absence of face coverings or violent behavior stood in stark contrast to many protests across
europe that have turned confrontational. These Iranians carried banners calling for the end of the Islamic dictatorship, chanting slogans of freedom and unity with Israel—a country their own
government labels an enemy.
The demonstration revealed a deeper truth about the nature of genuine political refugees. These individuals fled
iran not for economic opportunity but to escape the oppressive, ideological control of the Islamic regime. Many of them are doctors, engineers, students, and dissidents—people who once lived under daily surveillance, censorship, and threats. Their support for
israel is not merely political; it is symbolic of their desire to align with democratic values, pluralism, and human rights. By standing with a state often demonized by Iran’s rulers, they are defiantly asserting their break from the propaganda and hate that defined the regime they fled.

Unlike many who claim asylum in the West only to replicate authoritarian ideologies or reject
local laws and values, these Iranians embody what true refugees often look like:
people who cherish the freedom they've found and hope one day to bring those ideals back to their homeland. Their ultimate goal is not to remain in exile forever but to return to a free Iran—one that respects human dignity and coexists peacefully with the world. Their protest was a reminder that the greatest enemies of the Islamic regime are not foreign powers, but Iranians themselves—those who have seen its darkness firsthand and are committed to dismantling it from the outside with integrity, courage, and vision.
