Police records state that the older brother, a laborer in Gujarat, recently requested that his younger brother return his wife from her parental home, claiming domestic duties. He called to make the request, trusting his sibling. Following their mother's advice, the younger brother went to spend the night at his sister-in-law's parents' house.
But rather than accompanying her home the following day, the two vanished. The family frantically looked for them but couldn't find them. Nanand, the woman's sister-in-law, accused the younger brother of seducing and kidnapping her after failing to find any clues and submitting an official report to the Amarpur police station.
Speaking about the case, Officer Pankaj Kumar Jha of the Amarpur authorities Station affirmed the complaint and gave his word that the authorities are taking the situation seriously. "We are endeavoring to track down the two and are carrying out a comprehensive investigation. Once they are located, legal action will be taken," he said.
Villagers are surprised and outraged by the incident. The idea that a brother-in-law could elope with his sister-in-law, a connection that is customarily revered and respected in indian culture, is difficult for many people to comprehend. Some residents are publicly denouncing the behavior, while others are shocked.
There is tension and conjecture in the village as a result of the case being a major topic of talk, as police continue their search. Authorities are still optimistic that they will find the two and bring peace back to the neighborhood.
