The tamil romantic action comedy Thalaivan Thalaivii, featuring vijay sethupathi and Nithya Menen in lead roles, has achieved a remarkable milestone by grossing ₹100 crore at the global box office, as confirmed by its production house, Sathya jyothi Films. The film, directed by Pandiraj, was released in theaters on July 25, 2025, and continues to draw audiences nearly a month later. Additionally, it became available for streaming on Prime Video on august 22 in tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, expanding its reach to a broader audience.
In an announcement via social media, Sathya jyothi Films celebrated the film's success, stating: "Families' favourite Thalaivan Thalaivii marks 100 CR worldwide gross with your endless love & support."
The project, initially referred to as VJS51, marked Vijay Sethupathi's 51st film as a lead actor and was officially titled Thalaivan Thalaivii in May 2025. Filming took place from august 2024 to february 2025, primarily in chennai and Tiruchirappalli. The film’s technical team includes music by Santhosh Narayanan, cinematography by M. Sukumar, and editing by pradeep E. Ragav.
Described as a rugged love story, the narrative explores the tumultuous relationship of a strong-willed couple amidst action and comedic elements, juxtaposing emotional depth with lighter moments.
In addition to the leads, yogi babu plays a significant supporting role. Produced by TG thyagarajan under Sathya jyothi Films, with Sendhil thyagarajan and arjun thyagarajan as producers, the production also credits K.
