23 devotees from Badaun were stranded in nepal amid violent protests that began on september 8.
The first batch of 14 people returned to delhi from Kathmandu on friday morning via a flight that landed at 12:30 PM.
The second batch departed from nepal around 2 PM and reached delhi later in the day.
Devotees waved the tricolor and expressed gratitude on arrival at delhi airport.
š Pilgrimage Turned Nightmare
The devotees had travelled to Kathmandu on september 7 to visit Pashupatinath Temple, Janakpuri, and Muktidham.
Violence broke out the next day near their hotel in Kathmandu, trapping them inside.
Their hotel was located in a high-security zone near the parliament House and official residences.
š„ Jailbreak and Riots Near Hotel
Protesters broke into a major jail, released prisoners, and began looting,Ā vandalism, andĀ arson.
The area became unsafe; rioters targeted nearby hotels and infrastructure.
Devotees hid inside the hotel, and staff tried to prevent miscreants from entering.
š No Power, No Food Initially
On september 8, the hotel's power supply was cut, andĀ cookingĀ staff fled due to fear.
Devotees had to arrange food and water for themselves for an entire day.
Later, with help from the indian Embassy andĀ NepalĀ administration, medicines and essential items were provided.

Police reportedly fled during the chaos; army forces later controlled the situation.
Witnesses like Sanjay Shankhdhar and Virendra bobby described the experience as terrifying and felt āeverything would be over.ā
š bjp Leaders Facilitate Return to Badaun
BJP leaders from Badaun reached delhi with vehicles to receive the returning pilgrims.
They are taking the devotees back to Islamnagar.
Families eagerly await their loved ones and are preparing to welcome them warmly.

Four people from Binawar and two from Dataganj are still stranded in nepal amid ongoing unrest.
Efforts are underway to ensure their safe return.
