Chennai: tamil Nadu chief minister M.K. Stalin on tuesday distributed 2 lakh as financial assistance to poor and economically disadvantaged individuals on behalf of the Kalaignar m. karunanidhi Trust, reaffirming the trust’s commitment to social welfare and humanitarian service.

Speaking at the event held in Chennai, the chief minister said that the Kalaignar Trust, established in memory of former chief minister M. Karunanidhi, continues to uphold his ideals of compassion, social justice, and support for the marginalized sections of society. He noted that the trust has been extending timely assistance to those facing financial distress due to medical emergencies, education needs, and livelihood challenges.

Mr. stalin emphasized that helping the underprivileged is not merely an act of charity but a moral responsibility. “Kalaignar always believed that the true measure of governance lies in uplifting the weakest sections of society. This assistance is a continuation of that vision,” he said.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the trust and the chief minister, stating that the financial aid would provide crucial relief during difficult circumstances. Officials of the trust said such assistance programs would continue in the future to support those in need.

The event was attended by trust members, government officials, social workers, and beneficiaries. The chief minister personally handed over the financial aid and interacted with the recipients, assuring them of continued support.
