Instagram's algorithm promotes those Reels more, which are based on a trending audio or theme. If you make a video on a viral song or sound, then your Reel will get more space in the Explore and Reels section. But just following the trend will not work. You will also have to add your creativity and unique angle to it, so that people recognize you from others.
The instagram Reels algorithm has a simple rule—if the user scrolls past your video in the first 3 seconds, they consider your video a downvote. So the first 3 seconds are extremely crucial. Either show a shocking visual in the video, or ask a question that will make the user stop. For example, “Have you ever seen this?” or “Know the big thing in 5 seconds” can prove to be very effective.
The instagram algorithm prefers creators who post content regularly. Upload 4–5 Reels a week and do it at a specific time when your target audience is more active. For example, uploading between 8 pm and 10 pm can usually bring more views.
Every Reel should have a hook that will make the viewer stop. After that, the content should be information, entertainment or emotion. Finally, make sure to add a call to action—like “Share this Reel” “Follow for the next tips” etc. This increases your engagement rate, and also the ranking of your Reels in the algorithm.
