The worrying thing here is that despite the efforts of the government and administration, the cases of student suicides are not stopping here. Now one more name has been added to the list of students committing suicide due to being troubled by studies. A student preparing for NEET in Kota has committed suicide by hanging herself. On sunday (May 25) evening, while talking to a relative, she hanged herself in her room. However, the reasons for the suicide have not been known yet.

There was no anti-hanging device in the room

The room in which the Kashmiri student committed suicide did not have an anti-hanging device installed, whereas the Kota administration had made it mandatory for every hostel and coaching center. Despite the continuous instructions of the high court, the rajasthan government has not been able to formulate any policy to prevent incidents of student suicide. The high court has also expressed deep displeasure over this. The matter is still pending in the High Court. The supreme court has also expressed concern again 3 days ago regarding the incidents of suicide in Kota.

100 children committed suicide in seven years

The statistics of student suicide in Kota are worrying. Here, about 100 students have committed suicide in the last 7 years. These include only those students whose cases have been reported to the police, while the actual number may be even higher. Two-thirds of the students who died were preparing in the same coaching institute.

Rules to prevent suicide cases

Rules were made by the Kota police Administration to prevent incidents of student suicide. According to the rules, anti-hanging devices were made mandatory in the rooms. Student helpdesks have been set up in coaching centers and hostels in every police station area. Temporary police posts have been opened in the coaching areas. Helpline numbers have also been issued. However, the number of suicide cases in Kota is not decreasing.
