A Relationship That Ended... But Refused to Stay in the Past
What began as a workplace romance reportedly ended in one of the most horrifying crimes Mohali has witnessed in recent months. In a shocking incident that has left colleagues traumatized and a family devastated, a 30-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death inside her office by her former boyfriend and co-worker, who later attempted to take his own life.
The victim, identified as Dimple from Patiala, worked alongside 39-year-old harjinder singh Mann, also known as Harry, at a private courier company in Mohali. According to investigators, the two were in a relationship for more than three years before eventually parting ways. While the relationship ended, police believe Harjinder struggled to accept the breakup and repeatedly tried to reconcile with her.
Those efforts allegedly failed, setting the stage for a tragedy that unfolded inside the workplace on thursday evening. police say an argument erupted between the pair before Harjinder allegedly attacked Dimple with a knife. Despite attempts by shocked colleagues to intervene, the assault continued. CCTV cameras installed at the office reportedly captured the incident.
In a dramatic turn, the accused allegedly stabbed himself after attacking Dimple. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Doctors later declared Dimple dead, while Harjinder remains hospitalized.
The case has reignited conversations about obsession, rejection, and violence stemming from failed relationships. Investigators have seized CCTV footage, collected forensic evidence, and recorded witness statements as they work to reconstruct the events leading up to the fatal attack.
For one family, however, the investigation cannot change the devastating reality: a life was lost, and a workplace became the scene of an unimaginable tragedy.
