A chilling wave of panic rippled through two of Delhi’s prominent educational institutions on monday morning, after bomb threats were received via email at the Navy Children school in Chanakyapuri and the CRPF Public school in Dwarka.

Within minutes, emergency protocols were triggered. Bomb disposal squads, sniffer dogs, and elite security personnel rushed to both campuses, cordoning off the area while terrified parents scrambled for updates.

But this wasn’t an isolated scare. This marks yet another instance in a troubling series of email threats targeting schools across India. While no bombs have been discovered so far, the repeated pattern has begun to raise serious national security questions.

Who Could Be Behind This?

Police have launched a full-scale investigation with cyber experts tracing the origin of the emails. Speculations point in multiple directions:

  • Hoaxsters or students trying to avoid exams?

  • Foreign-based mischief-makers using VPNs and encrypted mail servers?

  • Or something more sinister — a test run by terror outfits?

Each possibility adds another layer of urgency to what might otherwise be dismissed as a prank.

A Pattern or a Test?

This isn’t the first time schools in delhi or cities like Bengaluru and chennai have received similar threats. Security experts fear this could be a “dry run” to assess India’s emergency response systems — or worse, a deliberate attempt to desensitize schools before a real attack.

Time to Act?

Are our institutions prepared for such threats? Do schools have proper emergency drills in place? Are cyber threat origins being taken seriously enough?

While authorities continue to investigate, one thing is clear: India’s schools are fast becoming soft targets in a new digital-age warfare — one fueled by fear, uncertainty, and chaos.
