9/11 Terrorist Attack anniversary...
On september 11, 2001 (9/11 attack), there was a terrorist attack on America, the most powerful country in the world. The World Trade Center in New York was targeted by terrorists. 19 members of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda hijacked four US planes and carried out a suicide attack on the World Trade Center. 2,977 people died in this attack. This attack shook the whole world. The then US President George Bush called 9/11 a dark day in American history. Today US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will travel across the country to honour and remember the victims of the 9/11 attacks.
What happened that day?
The incident was on Tuesday, september 11, 2001. Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four US commercial aircraft between 7.59 and 8.42 am on september 11. Two of these flew from Boston, one from washington dc and one from Newark to California. His purpose was to crash planes at different historical sites in America. The terrorists launched the first attack at 8:45 a.m. with an American airlines Boeing 767 hitting the North Tower of the World Trade Center. The plane was filled with 20,000 gallons of jet fuel. The plane collided with the 80th floor of this 110-storey building. In which thousands of people died due to fire.
At the same time, 18 minutes later, that is, United airlines Flight 175 collided with the South Tower of the World Trade Center. In this, the 60th floor of the building was attacked. After two planes collided at the World Trade Center, terrorists targeted the US Defense Ministry Pentagon in Washington from the third flight American airlines Flight 77 around 9.37 am. After this, the fourth hijack flight 93 was aimed at blowing up the white house or the US Capitol building, but due to a fight with the passengers, the terrorists lost control of the plane and the plane landed on the plains of Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
